Creating Fondant Roses Without Cutters

It’s always fun to shop for baking gadgets, tools and ingredients, but when it comes to limited budget or if you are just getting started with flowers, try this technique.  Here’s a quick way to make roses using fondant, chocolate clay (yummy) or gumpaste without using cutters!

I use 12 pieces of fondant.  You can chose to make just the buds using less petals or make the rose larger with the addition of more petals.

If you find that you have warmed up your fondant too much, shape the petal and let it rest for a few minutes.  When making a large quantity of roses, I like to shape all the petals first and then go back and assemble afterwards.  Happy decorating!
